Our Policy
Getting a new family member is worth waiting for. Many times it can take months to get the right puppy. This is a 12 plus year commitment that is worth the wait and should never be a rushed decision.
I understand your excitement in getting your new puppy. We are just as excited placing pups in loving homes. Oak Breezes' focus will be to provide as much stimulation as possible to ensure a well rounded puppy. We begin by keeping the environment/surrounding area calm for Mom and her pups during their time with us. Each day we will work with puppies, starting with Early Neurological Stimulation for the first 2 weeks, then introducing the Rule of 7 (please see below for Rule of 7) methodology in the following weeks. We enjoy watching the puppies grow, explore, playing, and learning. We will also start crate training at around the 5 week mark, teaching them to go potty in a certain designated area.
We have a form/questionnaire to fill out, after we have verbally communicating with prospective families. This is how we get to know you, as well as you get to know us. We will only take 2 deposits for each sex in a litter, then will put interested names on a waiting list. Rule of 7 Been in 7 different, safe locationsEaten from 7 different containersMet at least 7 different peopleRidden at least 7 miles in a carBeen in a crate at least 7 times (more is better)Played with 7 different kinds of toysBeen exposed to 7 different contextsBeen played with or taken somewhere alone, without mom or litter mates, 7 different times
